BTS releases another comeback trailer titled 'Outro : Ego' for the album Map Of The Soul : 7.

BTS' jhope shines in the comeback trailer, Ego, the second comeback trailer for BTS' new album Map of the Soul : 7.

The new trailer "Map Of The Soul: 7 'Outro : Ego'" released on Monday in South Korea February 3rd, 2020.

Just like jhope's personality, the MV is full of positive and happy vibes where in jhope raps about trusting himself and saying all the past hardships have made him who he is today. Unlike Suga's "Interlude : Shadow" which is all about Suga's negative experiences with fame and success, the song uses "Shadow" as a metaphor to the theory that your shadow stays always with you. In comparison to Shadow, Ego is definitely a lot more upbeat and lighter in it's approach which came as unexpected to many but matching jhope's past releases and persona. The MV as well is a flush of vibrant colours, visual graphics and fun settings.

"Ego" denotes a beautiful meaning just like the music video, it's about jhope overcoming his past hardships and negative forces in his life as Jung Hoseok to the journey of becoming jhope and pursuing his dreams. The lyrics reflect on his struggles as he wonders how hard things must have been for his younger self chasing after dreams that seemed unreal but the core message of the song is that once he learned to trust himself, and said life is not of jhope but Jeong Ho-Seok, something fate had given him with positives and negatives which couldn't be changed, he came to accept his ego. A scene in the MV where he enters J's Tailor, indicates that jhope's success is self-made just like the founder of Jay's Tailors. In the store he looks at himself, that is, his ego in the eye which may be another symbol of him accepting his ego.

The track adores a perfect blend of jhope's rap and producer Adora's backing vocals. Map Of The Soul : 7 is all set to release on February 21, with the music video for the album's lead single to be revealed on February 28. BTS has previously counted down the album release by releasing both "Interlude : Shadow" and pre-releasing the single "Black Swan".
